The extra room outside

On the Grand Strand, the backyard is a room you use most of the year.

Coastal living happens outside. A well-built outdoor space adds real, usable square footage — a place to cook, gather, and unwind that works from spring through fall. The catch is the environment: salt air, humidity, and sun are hard on anything not built for them.

We design outdoor living around how you entertain, then build it with coastal-grade materials and the same stone shop that supplies our kitchens. Grills, counters, decks, and shade structures — engineered to drain, breathe, and last, and tied into the house so it feels like an extension of it.

Give us the backyard and we will turn it into the best room you have.

Straight talk on cost

What shapes the price of your outdoor space

Outdoor projects range widely by structure and material. Here is what actually moves the estimate.

01

Size & structure

Square footage and whether the space needs footings, a covered roof, or a raised deck is the biggest driver.

02

Outdoor kitchen scope

Grills, burners, sinks, refrigeration, and stone counters add up by the appliance and the linear foot.

03

Hardscape material

Pavers, natural stone, and concrete sit at different price points, along with drainage and base prep.

04

Utilities

Running gas, water, and power out to the space — and how far it is from existing connections.

05

Shade & features

Pergolas, covered roofs, fire features, and lighting are yours to choose and each shifts the number.

Good questions

Outdoor living, answered

The things homeowners ask us most before they start. Have another? Just ask — we'll give you a straight answer.

Will an outdoor kitchen hold up to coastal weather?

It will if it is built for it. We use weather-tough cabinetry, stainless components, and stone counters from our own shop, and we detail everything to drain and breathe. Salt air is exactly what we design around here.

Wood or composite decking?

Both work; composite needs less upkeep and handles salt and sun with little maintenance, while wood offers a natural look at a lower upfront cost. We will walk you through the trade-offs for your budget and how you will use it.

Do I need a permit for a deck or outdoor structure?

Often, yes — decks, covered structures, and gas or electrical runs typically require permits. We handle permitting and inspections as part of the job and never suggest skipping them.

How long does an outdoor project take?

Most run 3–8 weeks on site, depending on size, structure, and hardscape. Design and any permits happen before that. We give you a real schedule up front.

Can you tie the space into my house?

Yes, and it makes all the difference. We match materials and rooflines and connect the space to the home so it feels like an extension of it, not a separate structure dropped in the yard.

Can you add stone counters and a grill I already own?

We can build around appliances you already have or supply new ones — your call. Stone counters come from our own shop, cut to fit whatever grill and layout we design together.

The covered outdoor kitchen is where we live now. Stone counters, built-in grill — and it has taken two summers of salt air without a blink.
